1. The institute is 15 kilometres from the Jalandhar bus terminal, on the G T Road bye pass.
2. Jalandhar city railway station is 12 km away, and Jalandhar Cantt railway station is 18 km away.
3. It is a half-kilometre walk from the Bidhipur railway crossing.
4. Auto rickshaws and taxi services are regularly provided at the train station and the bus stop.

Mode of Admission & Fee Structure

The mess Fee is around 35000 for one semester. There are 2 semesters in each year.

Scholarships

NITJ offers scholarships and financial assistance to deserving and meritorious students studying at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They are given based on a student’s athletic, academic, artistic and other abilities, such as the candidate’s contribution towards extracurricular activities.

Campus Facilities

• Central Library: The central library is housed in the heart of the campus, close to all departments and dormitories, and easily accessible to everybody. It has many subject books which students can refer to and read.

• Guest House: The Guest House includes 17 air-conditioned suites, each with a TV, Internet access, VoIP, and a blower. It has a warm ambience and environment and is often praised for its clean surroundings and delicious, hearty food.

• Canteens: There are a total of 7 canteens on campus. 3 of them are juice and shake corners, while others are local canteens providing food.

• Gymnasium Hall: A Gymnasium is a facility for indoor sports such as badminton, table tennis, and other similar activities.

• Open-Air Theatre: The institute also has an open-air theatre which has a capacity of about 400 students. Various events are conducted here from time to time.

• Banks and Post Office: • State Bank of Patiala and Canara Bank are two institute banks on campus. Both banks are standard campus branches that are located in the same building. Apart from that, the institute also has its own post office.

• Dispensary: The institute has a dispensary equipped with a Pathological lab to conduct different investigations and provide first aid to the injured. In case of a medical emergency, the ambulance van is available 24 hours a to take patient(s) to other hospitals for the required treatment.

• Shopping: The Shopping Centre provides groceries, provisions, and other necessities needed in day-to-day life. A bookshop is located in the institute's commerce area, and a Xerox machine is available.
• Student Activity Centre: The activity centre is fully equipped with a Gym, Table Tennis Room, Pool Table Room, Yoga Room, Chess Room, and Ki Room. Students can come and make use of these facilities.

• Central Seminar Hall: All major activities at NIT Jalandhar occur in the Central Seminar Hall. It is equipped with an Air conditioner and is close to the NITJ’s central building.

Hostels

• There are 13 hostels in total, with ten for boys and three for girls.
• Girls have a 2 seater rooms (3rd and 4th year) and 4 seater rooms (1st and 2nd year)
• Boys have 2 seater rooms (2nd and 3rd year), 1 seater room (4th year) and 4 seater rooms (1st year)
• Each hostel has a reading area, indoor games, washing machines and other amenities such as geysers, water purifiers, and water coolers.
• The majority of hostels have access to the internet.
• A bed, Almirah and cupboard are provided to each student.

Hostel In Timings

Boys

• Boys have an in time of 6 pm for 1st year.
• In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year they do not have any in timings.

Girls

• Girls have an in time of 6 pm for 1st year.
• In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years they have an in time of 10 pm

Hygiene and Mess Food

• The corridors and Washroom are cleaned daily. But students have to clean their rooms on their own.
• Mess Food is not very tasty, but it will help you to survive.
• Mess opens 4 times a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner. During exam times, the mess opens at night also for students to eat some light snacks.
• Non-veg is available 2 times a week. Eggs are available daily.

Clubs and Groups

NIT Jalandhar has more than 20 active clubs and groups relating to different fields and niches, including - the Quiz club, Zeal Society, Literary and Debating Club, Innovation club, Bawre, R-tist, Octaves, E-cell, Google Developer's Student club, Bhangra club, Animations club and many more.

• Placement statistics are fairly good.
• Lots of Clubs and groups for you to explore your interests and hobbies.
• Many Inter cities in Punjab to travel to, like Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Himachal.

Why not to join NIT Jalandhar?

• There aren’t a lot of networking opportunities here.
• Campus life is not so happening.
• Startup Culture and entrepreneurship are not supported at the student level.
• Too much Workload makes student life hectic.
• Girls have an in-time 10 pm in the hostel throughout their college life.
• The campus is located out of the city. There aren’t many places nearby to hang out or eat.
