IIT Jee is the topic of discussion for every engineering aspirant out there. If you aim to get into one of the most prestigious engineering institutes in the country, like IITs, NIT, and IIITs, you are bound to clear this exam. Every year 10 to 13 lakh students give JEE MAINS exam, out of which less than 50k students can secure a seat for themselves in the JOSAA counselling. This makes it one of the most difficult entrance exams in the country. It requires a proper schedule and the right preparation strategy to get into the country's top 5% of students.

To begin with, JEE exam has 2 stages - JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. JEE Mains is required to get admission into NITs, IITs, and other centrally /state-funded technical institutions, whereas JEE Advanced is required to get admission in the IITs. To appear for JEE Advanced, you must qualify for JEE Mains first.

3. Refer Reference Books

Once you have completed the syllabus from your NCERT books, you can then start practicing questions from other reference books that are available in the market. You can also refer to their study material if you are enrolled in a coaching institute. A list of a few famous books for JEE preparation has been provided below :

4. Solve Previous Year Papers

It is very important to solve previous year's papers to get an idea about the level of difficulty of the exam. Previous year papers are easily available on the NTA website. Once you have completed a particular topic, solve the previous year's questions related to that topic. This will boost your confidence and you will be able to perform well on the day of your exam.

5. Make Short Notes

Making short notes is a highly recommended practice during your JEE preparation. Once a particular chapter is completed, you can make your short notes containing important formulas, facts, and concepts. These notes would be very helpful to you in your last days of exams. You could quickly skim through them and memorize all the important points and formulas.

6. Regular Mock Tests

The more you practice mock tests, the more familiar you get with the exam pattern. Mock Tests are available on the NTA website. Set an alarm for yourself and try to give the mock test within the stipulated time of the exam duration. Mock tests would help you manage your time effectively and improve your problem-solving ability as well.

7. Analyze Your Mistakes

After giving a particular mock test, you need to analyze your score and go through all your mistakes. Try solving the questions which you weren’t able to solve while giving the mock exam. This analysis will provide you with a better picture of your strong and weak concepts. Devote time to your weak concepts and practice more to strengthen them.

8. Eat Healthy and Sleep well

For your brain to be more focused and concentrated, you need to have a good sleep. It will relax your mind and also improve your ability to memorize things. It is also advisable to eat healthy food. It will make you feel energetic and focused all the time.
